I never thought it might be like this when
I wrote that song years ago
Hospitals to breath, a few pills I hate
to pull me out the hole
Endless nights gazing at that picture
of you on my wall,
the "Happiness" poster was laughing at me
while I was stoned
And now, seven months later something's changed
but it doesn’t mean that I’m ok
Choked, when we play I still feel the same,
the pain is there cause’ my mistakes
Dreams of you and me when I’m awake
Even though I know you’re cold enough to
not give me one more chance
If you’d realize I’ve truly changed
so you may change your mind
Even though I know you’re hooked on that girl
and it really hurts
I can’t move on, dumb enough to think
that the magic will be back
And now here I am writing a new song
trying not to drown myself in tears
Then I’m sure you’re gonna listen to it
but anyway you know it’s real
Guess we are not into the same old thing
while those green eyes stare at me
You remember “damn near perfect” right?
Cause logic makes no sense at all
It still makes no sense at all…

Musically this feels more experimental for La Dispute reminding me of their Here, Hear releases. Very atmospheric and easy to lose your self in. Perfect for the next time you’re contemplating your existence. (Also found out the guitarist builds his own pedals and used them on this record; neato!) Mikey
